GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM)-The hot weather is actually helping charter fishing along the lakeshore.
Members of the Charter Fishing Association in Grand Haven say the consistent conditions allow them to narrow down the whereabouts of fish and help customers catch them. Thursday morning, it only took about two hours for visitors aboard the "Hot Spot" to catch 20 Salmon and a cooler full of Steelhead.
The ship's captain says most of his summer trips are full. July and August are always the busiest two months for charter fishing. In 2010, Michigan was home to more than 550 charter boats.
