GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZZM) -- A Wyoming man accused of burning American flags in Ottawa County is facing new arson charges in Kent County.
William Howerton is accused of setting an American flag on fire at a Grandville Comerica Bank and inside a store at RiverTown Crossings mall.
Howerton was first arrested earlier this month for flag burning cases in Ottawa County. One incident was at Hudsonville city hall, while the other was in front of the road commission garage in Georgetown Township.
Investigators say Howerton is angry at the federal government and believes it is responsible for the September 11th attacks.
