UPDATE: Deputies to reopen M-37 after crash

UPDATE AT 4:20 P.M. (WZZM) -- The driver of the motorcycle involved in the accident, a man believed to be from out of state, was air-lifted to an area hospital with serious injuries. He was the only person on the motorcycle.

The truck driver, a male, was also alone during the accident and was not injured.

UPDATE AT 4:07 P.M. (WZZM) -- Deputies expect to reopen M-37 at 10 Mile Road NW to traffic around 4:45 p.m. Thursday after an accident involving a truck and a motorcycle.

SPARTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Deputies have closed off part of M-37 on the Sparta-Alpine township line due to a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck.

The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. Thursday on M-37 at 10 Mile Rd. NW.

At least one person was injured in the crash, and an Aero Med helicopter has been flown to the scene to carry the victim to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital.

Deputies have blocked off M-37 from 9 Mile Road to Sparta Avenue.
