Cycling Classic returns to Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) -- The 2012 Herman Miller Grand Cycling Classic will occupy the streets of downtown Grand Rapids Saturday.

America's top professional riders are competing in the Grand Cycling Challenge ride.

In today's urban environments, cycling continues to grow in popularity as a way to stay fit, enjoy the outdoors, and as a mode of "green" transportation.  

The start and finish line will be on Ionia just south of Fulton

7:15 a.m. - Grand Cycling Challenge Ride: For cyclists of all abilities / 6.25 km course / 2.5 hours
Medals at 4 (25 km), 8 (50 km) and 12 laps (75km)

10:00 a.m. - Men's and Women's Amateur Category and Masters Series Races

1:45 p.m. - Senior Women's Pro/Am National Criterium Calendar (NCC) Cat 1 / 2

3:10 p.m. - Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Kids' Race: Free / Ages 9 and under / 1.2 km course

3:30 p.m. - Men's USA Cycling Pro Criterium National Championship: 80 km race / 1.2 km looped course
