BARRY COUNTY, Mich. (WZZM) - The Michigan State Police and bomb squad members are on the scene of suspicious situation near Hastings.
Police were called to the area of Rork and M-37 at about 5:00am on reports of a suicidal subject. When officers arrived, they found a man in his 40's seriously injured and a detonated small pipe bomb. The man was taken to Pennock Hospital in Hastings and then flown to Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. His condition is unknown.
The police and bomb squad are inspecting the man's vehicle and home for potentially more explosives.
