spoilers?

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - No one likes it when someone spoils the ending of a movie, but is it OK when it comes to the Olympics? That seems to be the debate this week as fans, media outlets, and even athletes announce the winners before they can be seen on television.

At WZZM 13 News, Bob Brenzing is in charge of updating social media and wzzm13.com. "After the first day, I decided not to post them on Facebook." Bob was getting too many complaints. One person wrote, "I wish the media would stop with these spoilers. It's ruining the Olympics for those who want to watch it on TV."

We took the debate to downtown Grand Rapids. The Ertl family had different opinions. "I like it instantaneous. I like getting the news quickly. I didn't mind it in the least that I heard it in advance."

"I was watching the Tigers game and this little thing comes on at bottom and says women's gymnastics team won gold. I was disappointed."

"Everybody's got the results out there. To not see it, you're going to have to put yourself in a hole to miss those," says Bob.

WZZM is still posting the Olympic results on Twitter and wzzm13.com
