Crews installing new funicular cars at John Ball Zoo.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WZZM) - The new funicular at John Ball Zoo is nearly ready for the public. It's the first of its kind in Michigan and the only zoo in the country that has a funicular.
The ride takes you 114-feet up to the highest point of the zoo. It was expected to open sooner, but because it has three-cars, as opposed to the typical one, it was more difficult to program. The funicular is expected to open next week.
