GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - As gas prices reach nearly four dollars, a West Michigan man is turning his frustrations into a song.

"I'm a consumer just like you and everybody else, and gas prices are taking a lot out of our pockets and I was frustrated," says Jason Miles.

Jason lives in the Grand Rapids area and shot the video in West Michigan. It's a catchy tune, combined with some humor. In one scene, Jason is a gas station attendant but instead of taking money, he takes the customer's first born child.

"It almost feels like, by the time you look at the total, you're giving away everything, including you're first born," as the lyric goes.

Right now, the Great Lakes Region has some of the highest gas prices. Experts say there are three refineries in the area that have issues right now and an important pipeline in Wisconsin, is shut down.

"It really goes up higher than that. So, the song is more like the government, in general. Please do something so we're not paying so much at the pumps."

Jason says there is no political message in his story. He actually wrote the lyrics in 2007, but made the video last year. In this case, he is an aspiring songwriter, who just happened to use gasoline as his muse.
