Redneck Fishing Tournament
BATH, Illinois (WZZM) - A Muskegon fisherman continues to promote public awareness about Asian carp and the threat they pose to the Great Lakes.
For the 7th year in a row, Tom Matych attended the Redneck Fishing Tournament in Bath, Illinois. He says this year, the tournament was bigger than ever. 159 boats brought in a new record of over 10,000 Asian carp.
The teams go out on the Illinois River and use nets to catch the jumping fish while they are in the air.
