MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- Incumbent Sheriff Dean Roesler and first-time Prosecutor candidate D.J. Hilson have won their races in Tuesday's Democratic Primary.
With 100% or precincts reporting, Roesler had 50% of the vote in his race over challengers John Jurkas (43%) and Joel Dobis (8%). There is no Republican on the November ballot.
D.J. Hilson received 45% of Tuesday's vote against challengers Marc Curtis (35%) and Stephen Corwin (19%). No Republican is running in November.
Hilson is currently an assistant prosecutor for Muskegon County. He will succeed Tony Tague, who has been Prosecutor for 20 years.
