HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM)-Thousands of supporters lined the streets of Holland Saturday for a chance to pay their respects to a Holland marine, killed in Afghanistan.

Gunnery Sgt. Daniel Price was laid to rest Saturday. With flags in hand, people waited along the roadside for hours to honor the marine during his final homecoming. Hundreds of motorcyclists led the funeral procession down 40th and Washington.

Carlton West, a Vietnam War veteran, was just passing through the area on his way home to Texas, when he spotted the memorial and stopped to pay tribute.

"It's wonderfully heartening to see the unity. All the people who would come out for this person and all. It was something I had to do and wanted to do," he said. "It's a wonderful town. I'm very impressed with this town."

Sgt. Price was one of two marines killed in the July 29 attack. Sgt. Jonathan Gifford of Florida also died in the bombing. Price joined the marines in 2003 and was on his sixth tour.
