GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Rosa Parks Circle seems like an odd place to fish, but that's where a group of fishing guides were casting off Thursday.
Employees from the Pere Marquette Lodge in Baldwin gathered downtown to teach people how to fish and raise awareness about the rivers running through West Michigan.
Devon Carr, a fly fishing guide says the sport is a perfect hobby while school is out.
"Tying flies is a great way to spend some time instead of sitting and watching TV-- you know, keep your artistic mind going."
The fly fishing sessions continue Friday afternoon at Rosa Parks Circle.
