UPDATE AT 4:45 P.M. - AUG. 24 (WZZM) -- Police in St. Joseph say a toddler who was the subject of an Amber Alert has been recovered safely.

Investigators tracked down Chloe West, 2, and her mother Lisa West, 40, in Chicago.  The mother was arrested on charges of parental kidnapping, and will be extradited back to Michigan.

Chloe West is being returned to St. Joseph to be placed in the care of the Department of Human Services.

ST. JOSEPH, Mich. (WZZM) - St. Joseph Police are searching for a missing child believed to be in extreme danger. Officers say Chloe West, 2, was taken around 10:30 a.m. Thursday by her biological mother, Lisa West, who has had her parental rights terminated. Lisa may be accompanied by Wayne Henry of Benton Harbor.

Chloe is 25 pounds and has brown eyes. She was last seen with her hair in 10 pigtails with many barrettes. Chloe wearing a pink short sleeved dress with white flowers and matching ruffled shorts.

Lisa West is 40 years old and is 5' 5'', 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt.
