FERRYSBURG, Mich. (WZZM) - A 6-week-old baby boy was flown to a Grand Rapids hospital early Friday morning, and his 23-year-old father has been arrested after an alleged shaking incident left the infant with serious brain injuries.
The Grand Haven Tribune reports Grand Haven Public Safety officers were called to North Ottawa Community Hospital at about 2 a.m. to investigate the case. They determined Bentley Ryan McIntyre was shaken at a Ferrysburg home, located at 317 Maple St.
Baby Bentley is listed in critical condition at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.
Police arrested the boy's father, Justin McIntyre of Spring Lake. Bentley's mother, Kaylee Zalsman, was at work when the incident occurred, and is now with her baby at the hospital
Justin listed on his Facebook page that he works at Gentex in Zeeland. He has as his main photo on his Facebook page a picture of Bentley.
