(LANSING STATE JOURNAL) - The Spirit of Goodyear blimp is headed to Spartan Stadium today in preparation for televising the Michigan State vs. Boise State match-up Friday night on ESPN.
"Our three blimps cover approximately 150 televised events each year using state-of-the-art Hi-Def camera equipment," Ed Ogden, public relations manager for the Spirit of Goodyear blimp, said in a statement. "Blimps make a near-perfect platform for live sports since they are smooth, steady, can stay on station for hours, and maneuver about the venues with grace and ease."
Goodyear owns and operates three blimps in the U.S., the Spirit of Goodyear in Suffield, Ohio; the Spirit of Innovation, in Pompano Beach, Fl.; and the Spirit of America, in Carson, Ca., according to a press release from the company.
