GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)-Grand Rapids police are alerting residents to a crime that's reached Kent County.

It's called ATM skimming. Thieves set up a replica key pad, replica card scanner and a hidden camera on or near ATMS to collect data from each transaction. They then use that information to hack into customer bank accounts.

Grand Rapids police say they've seen ATM skimming happening in the Kent County area over the last couple of weeks. To help customers identify the tools scammers use, they posted a diagram on their Facebook page.
