St. Ignace & Grand Rapids (WZZM) - WZZM 13 had a little representation up at the annual Mackinac Bridge Labor Day crossing.

Our colleague Craig Vander Hulst sent us a picture of his wife and little boy Jacob on the bridge. All three took part in the five mile walk across the bridge Monday.

Grand Rapids may not have a five mile bridge to cross, but the city has its own annual walking tradition on Labor Day.

Mayor George Heartwell led Grand Rapids' annual Labor Day Bridge Walk Monday on a new route.

The walk kicked off from Ah-Nab-Awen Park, crossing multiple downtown bridges.

Walkers trekked five miles like those that crossed the Mackinac Bridge with Governor Snyder.

Grand crossings is part of the Active Michigan Summer Initiative, organized by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness.
