UPDATE AT 1:45 P.M., SEPT. 5 (WZZM) -- The Ottawa County Medical Examiner has ruled the death of a chicago man found off a Park Township beach as an accidental drowning.

Paul DeTrano's body was found about 100 yards offshore Tuesday.  He was last seen Sunday afternoon.

UPDATE AT 4:50 P.M., SEPT. 4 (WZZM) -- Search crews have found the body of a missing Chicago man in Lake Michigan.

A team of Ottawa County deputies found the body of Paul DeTrano, 36, between 3 and 4 p.m. Tuesday about 100 yards from shore in the 4700 block of Lakeshore Dr. N. in Park Township. That's the same area where he was last seen Sunday.

Investigators say a kayaker first spotted the body Monday, but deputies were not able to find it when they searched. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter assisted in Tuesday's search and directed search crews to the body.

DeTrano was visiting the lakeshore with friends, say detectives. they had rented a cottage in Park Township for years.

Investigators tell WZZM 13 DeTrano's death is not suspicious. An autopsy will be conducted Wednesday morning.

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Ottawa County deputies are searching for the night for a missing Chicago man on the lakeshore.

Paul DeTrano, 36, was swimming with Sunday afternoon off a Park Township beach. Friends last saw him walking toward the shore.

Deputies searched the lakeshore between Ransom and New Holland roads for any sign of DeTrano.
