TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- Kent County deputies say a Kent City-area father stopped another man from abducting his son -- but investigators did not learn about the incident for two days.
Deputies say alleged abduction attempt happened Tuesday, but was not reported until Thursday.
In the incident, which reportedly happened between 12 and 1 p.m. Tuesday, was on 17 Mile Rd. NW near Division Ave. in Tyrone Township. The father's two-year-old son was playing in the family's front yard while the dad was working in the garage. The father saw a man walking away from the family's house holding the child's hand. The father confronted the man and was able to take his son inside the home, but when the dad came back outside the man was gone.
The suspect is described as approximately 20 years old, six feet tall, 190 lbs., and with pale skin and red or blond curly hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt and should have injuries to his head and face. The suspect may also have had a car parked on the shoulder of 17 Mile Rd. near Division Ave.
