New York, NY (Sports Network) - Lindsay Harding of the Atlanta Dream and Maya
Moore of the Minnesota Lynx were named the WNBA's Eastern and Western
Conference Players of the Week for the period ending Sept. 9.
Harding won the honor for the first time in her career, after averaging 19.3
points and dishing out 6.3 assists, times per game for the week. She helped
improve the Dream's overall record to 16-14. She also averaged 1.67 steals
per game.
Moore led the Lynx to three wins against playoff-bound teams during the week
to extend their winning streak to 11 games. She ranked second in the Western
Conference in both scoring and rebounds, averaging 21.3 points and 11 rebounds
per game.
Other players considered for the award were Epiphanny Prince of the
Chicago Sky, Tina Charles of the Connecticut Sun, DeWanna Bonner of the
Phoenix Mercury and Camille Little of the Seattle Storm.
