SAUGATUCK, Mich. (WZZM) - Residents showed up, hoping for their moment in the spotlight in a singalong video promoting Pure Michigan travel. Now some are wondering why Saugatuck didn't make the final cut.
According to the Saugatuck Convention and Visitors Bureau, the popular lakeshore community was left out of the video because of a miscommunication with the filmmakers.
The video, which premiered Sunday during the Lions game, has since gone viral with nearly 750,000 views on YouTube.
City officials say Saugatuck was the only city that was filmed but not used in the three-minute and 44-second long piece. The visitors bureau says the filmmakers had a different idea of where to tape the segment and it ended up not working out.
