Jill Biden told Democrats that her husband and President Barack Obama are looking out for them. In return, she says "it's time that we have their backs."
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- The presidential election is less than two months away, and Saturday, West Michigan welcomed a member of the White House.
Dr. Jill Biden, Joe Biden's wife, stopped in Grand Rapids to kick off Democratic canvassing efforts, and explain why this election should matter to middle class families. During her three and a half minute speech, Dr. Biden touched on job creation, veteran employment tax credits, national health care coverage, the equal pay act for women, and making college education more affordable.
"As Americans, I know this administration is fighting for all of the values that America represents," said Dr. Biden. "You know Joe and Barack have our backs, so it's time that we have their backs. You know they're standing up for us, so we need to stand up for them."
Dr. Biden also visited Kalamazoo and Battle Creek before heading to Pennsylvania to campaign.
