GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - An adventure was in store for 10,000 runners Saturday at Millenium Park in Grand Rapids.
The Warrior Dash took runners through a 3.3 mile course with fire and mud pits, a cargo climb, two water obstacles, and even barbed wire to climb under.
Katherine Kaeenan with Entrepreneur of Enthusiasm says this is one of 55 Warrior Dashes taking place nationally this year, and says organizers increased the number of obstacles from last year.
"It's something our participants want and they crave, and they come everywhere for it. This is something that's not just a pavement run. You're climbing through obstacles, you're climbing through mud, you're jumping over mud, it's not something you get to do everyday," said Kaeenan.
The muddy and exhausted runners were greeted with beer and the option of showers when they crossed the finish line.
