GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Northbound U.S. 131 is back open after a chain reaction crash closed all but one lane of the highway Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened just after 1 p.m. at the northbound split to westbound I-96. At least five vehicles were involved in a chain-reaction crash in a construction zone.
The accident forced three lanes of traffic to squeeze down to one. Traffic backed up for miles to the Ford Freeway.
Police cleared the scene around 2:45 p.m. No one was seriously injured.
