Apple Store at Woodland Mall
KENTWOOD, Michigan (WZZM) - People lined up at mobile phone stores and computer stores around West Michigan Friday morning to get the new iPhone 5 from Apple.
At Woodland Mall in Kentwood, people started lining up outside at about 8 pm Thursday. Woodland Mall opened the doors at 6 am Friday and people streamed inside. There they had to wait again until the Apple Store opened at 8 am.
The new iPhone 5 is lighter and thinner than previous models, but has a larger screen. The iPhone 5 has a faster processor and uses the LTE 4G network, so data speeds should be much faster.
At the AT&T store on the East Beltline, people lined up outside as well. Because the store is small, workers were only able to allow about four people inside at a time to buy the phone.
