Juliet Dragos as Mistress of Ceremonies during Race for the Cure
GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WZZM)- The Komen Race for the Cure event has raised $400,000 so far and even more donations are coming in.
The 15th Annual Race began at Rivertown Crossings Mall before winding through the city of Grandviille.
It kicked off with a Survivor Ceremony at 7:45 a.m., followed by the race at 8:30 a.m.
WZZM 13's Juliet Dragos is this year's Mistress of Ceremonies. She and WZZM 13's Phil Dawson also ran the 5k race.
In all, there were five thousand runners and walkers, including breast cancer survivors.
Of the money raised at the event, 75% stays in West Michigan for treatment, breast screenings and research to find a cure for breast cancer.
