TYRONE TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - A Kent County man, who deputies say confessed to making up a story about the attempted abduction of his son, will appear in court next week.
Tuesday, detectives identified the father as Eugene Rose, 32, of Tyrone Township. He's facing a charge of lying to an officer.
Rose claimed he fought off the man who tried walking away with Rose's two-year-old son. But Rose did not tell deputies about the incident for two days.
Last week, Rose admitted to making up the story.
