GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WZZM) - An early Sunday morning noise distrubance call turned violent when an 18 year old man began beating a Grand Haven Public Safety officer in the head with a wine bottle.
The incident happened on Clinton Street. The officer was able to get the suspect under control only after using a taser to subdue him.
No other details including the officer's name, suspect's name or why the man began assaulting the officer are being released at this time.
The officer was treated and released for his injuries at North Ottawa Community Hospital.
The suspect is being held in the Ottawa County Jail on charges with intent to do great bodily harm and will be arraigned on Monday. He faces 10 years in prison.
