Police: Carjacker, victim exchange gun fire

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)  - One person is now in custody and police are looking for two more in a robbery and carjacking Monday night.

Two men reported being robbed by two other men with guns about 8:20 pm in the 1000 block of Neland Ave. SE. One of the victims says he exchanged gunfire with the suspects.

At the same time, one victim tells Grand Rapids Police a third suspect took off with his car, a black Pontiac Grand Prix.

About 11:30 pm Monday police got a call about a car speeding around a neighborhood. Police found the stolen car near Logan and Madison. The driver jumped out and ran, but Grand Rapids Police caught him a short time later.

Police are still looking for the two suspected robbers.

Police do not believe anyone was injured in the shooting.
