OAKFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) - M-57 is back open in northeastern Kent County following a serious crash Wednesday afternoon.
Kent County Sheriff's deputies tell WZZM 13 an elderly driver was driving erratically on M-57, which is also known as 14 Mile Road. The driver tried to pass a pick-up truck, but sideswiped the vehicle. The elderly driver lost control and ran off the road, striking a tree.
The driver was pinned in. He was flown by AeroMed to Spectrum Health Butterworth in serious condition.
M-57 was closed between Lincoln Lake Ave. and Morgan Mills Rd. It reopened around 5 p.m.
