PORTAGE, Mich. (WZZM) - The search for a missing West Michigan woman is likely over.
Bonnie Merckley walked away from an adult foster care home in Portage on August 27. Early Saturday morning, hunters found a badly decomposed body in a swampy area about a mile away from the facility. Based on the clothing and a purse found next to the body, investigators say they believe it's Merckley.
An autopsy will take place Sunday.
