(DETROIT FREE PRESS) - Kid Rock's ready to let his free flag fly, again.
A news release Sunday announced that the bad boy rocker from Romeo is expected to be on hand to support Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan at a rally tonight in Oakland County. The free event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at Oakland University's Athletics Center O'rena in Rochester.
Rock, who supported the Wisconsin representative back at a GOP fund-raising event at the Oakland Hills Country Club in August and then followed up with an encore at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, told MTV last week that he's fed up with all of the political correctness he sees during the ongoing election cycle.
"People are so angry at each other for their viewpoints. You know, yeah, I'm a little right-wing," Rock says. "I'm gonna vote for Mitt Romney, but that's where my politics end."
Rock is not just firing up his base for the Nov. 6 election, but also prepping fans for his new record, "Rebel Soul," which is due Nov. 19. He says that people's differences shouldn't be condemned but celebrated.
"If you're not (going to vote for Romney), it's OK, we can still have a conversation and be friends and maybe enlighten each other on some views," Rock tells MTV. "I think thinking differently is what made this country great."
