GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- The fifth annual Taste of Africa: Out of the Kitchens of Africa will be held from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13th.
It will feature authentic food and music from several African countries, along with a silent auction, musical entertainment, a fashion show and African dance performances by Grand Valley State University (GVSU) students.
The Michigan Alliance for African Women (MAAW), in partnership with the Department of Area Studies at GVSU, is holding this fundraising and social event to support the MAAW's efforts to serve the community's African immigrant and refugee population.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held at Pizzazz Banquet Hall, 1537 Langley St. SE, Grand Rapids. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 5 and older.
The Michigan Alliance for African Women is a not-for-profit, 501 c 3 community-based organization that exists to enhance the dignity and independence of African refugees in Michigan and help them to understand and assimilate into the
