WAYLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - A Michigan State Police Trooper suffered minor injuries when the patrol car he was in was rear-ended while responding to another crash.
At about 2:30pm, MSP was assisting the Allegan County Sheriff with a rollover crash on U.S. 131, south of 135th Avenue by directing traffic around the crash. A MSP patrol car was sitting in the passing lane with lights activated when a pick-up truck hit it from behind. The pick-up truck had been following another pick-up truck that pulled onto the shoulder to avoid the patrol car.
Both pick-up drivers were ticketed for the crash. Neither pick-up truck drivers were hurt. The trooper was treated for minor injuries.
