UNDATED (AP) -- The St. Louis Cardinals will have to stage a miraculous comeback to reach the World Series.

The San Francisco Giants led the Redbirds 7-0 through six innings in the seventh and deciding game of the National League Championship Series. The Giants scored runs in each of the first two innings before sending 11 batters to the plate in a five-run third to go up by seven. Every member of the San Francisco lineup scored a run and/or drove in a run before Cardinals pitchers recorded their ninth out.

Marco Scutaro and Hunter Pence each had two of the Giants' nine hits through the first six innings. Pence also delivered a two-run double during the third-inning fireworks.

Matt Cain singled home the Giants' second run and limited the Cardinals to five hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse lasted just two-plus innings, surrendering five runs and six hits.

Tonight's winner hosts the Detroit Tigers in Game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday.
