WHITE CLOUD, Mich. (WZZM) - An elderly woman died early Wednesday morning in a fire in Newaygo County.
The Newaygo County Sheriff's Office reports that they were called, along with the White Cloud Fire Department to the 500 block of Silver in Everett Township early Wednesday morning. The home was engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene. The 911 caller told firefighters that the owner of the residence was still believed to be inside.
Josephine Schondelmayer, 86, was found inside the home and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Michigan State Fire Marshall is investigating, but does not believe the fire is suspicious. The official cause of the fire is not yet known.
