GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - At least one flight heading to the east coast is cancelled tonight, as Hurricane Sandy bears down on the Atlantic Coast.

According to the Gerald R. Ford International Airport's website, United Flight #4538 to Newark was cancelled.

All air traffic from Washington, D.C. to New York is expected to be grounded until after the storm has passed, but it could be three to four days until air travel returns to normal.

The flight cancellations may not directly impact travelers leaving from Grand Rapids, but it could affect connections and inbound flights.
