GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- While children look forward to candy on Halloween, some Grand Rapids high school students are getting something much more valuable.

The Geek Group, which has worked with us to demonstrate a number of scientific things, runs the "Computers Not Candy" program.

Dart Container Corporation donated 100 laptops to The Geek Group, which is giving them to students enrolled in the Grand Rapids Area Pre-college Engineering Program.

"We work hand in hand with GRPS in order to find the most suitable group of students," Chris Boden of The Geek Group. "It fits our perimeter goal of furthering science technology education and math through our programming"

The Geek Group is a non-profit organization located in the former West Leonard YMCA in Grand Rapids.
