IONIA, Mich. (WZZM) A Muir man has been arrested in connection with allegedly defrauding an elderly woman while she was battling a serious illness.
The Ionia County Sheriff's Office says that James Arthur Lowe was arrested on Tuesday for Larceny from a Building, four counts of Uttering and Publishing and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Detectives say the charges stem from an investigation on October 25th that started with a fraud complaint by a 72-year-old Lowell woman. The woman's checking account had been accessed and compromised.
Lowe is expected to be arraigned later Thursday morning.
