HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) - The city of Holland is forcing a troubled motel to close its doors -- at least temporarily -- following a 13 On Your Side investigation.
City leaders are suspending the business license of the Wooden Shoe Motel on U.S. 31, because of ongoing safety issues.
Last month, the 13 On Your Side investigation revealed numerous complaints and violations at the motel, ranging from bed bugs to no running water. Some of those problems have been fixed, but inspectors have found more violations, including problems with the electrical system and room conditions.
If the motel doesn't fix the latest violations in the next three months, it could be permanently shut down.
Guests currently at the Wooden Shoe have 30 days to leave the property.
