(WZZM) - Michigan's ballots are all counted and voters said, 'keep your hands off our constitution.'

All five plans to amend the constitution went down to defeat despite the 140 million dollars spent to sell them.

Also defeated, a law the governor wanted to manage financially struggling cities and schools.

Governor Snyder was disappointed with that proposal's defeat. He says he things some voters may have been confused.

"Because of how the outstate vote went," said Snyder. "Where there are a number of communities that really didn't have emergency managers in their areas that didn't have experience either pro or con with it."

On all other proposals, Governor Snyder was grateful for Tuesday's outcome. Next up for that new bridge to Canada, a presidential permit that could come soon.

Voters said "yes" to the bridge by a nearly two to one margin.
