PAW PAW, Mich. (WZZM) - Van Buren County Sheriff's Deputies say that a man found slumped behind the wheel of a running car in a city parking lot had meth and marijuana in his possession.

Deputies were called to the municipal parking lot at Michigan and Kalamazoo Street in Paw Paw Thursday morning on reports of a man sleeping in a car and that the car was running.  Police found the man slumped over the steering wheel of the car.  When the man awoke, he refused to let police in his car, so deputies had a K9 unit sniff around the vehicle for evidence of narcotics.  The dog indicated the presence of drugs and police seized the vehicle, finding meth, marijuana, and cash.

The 37-year-old Portage man was arrested and will be arraigned on Friday.
