KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) -- There are less than two months before Christmas and a sign the holidays are near is on display in Kentwood.
Gov. Rick Snyder, Art Van Elslander and Santa's helpers were among those who attended the kickoff of the Art Van Wonderland on 28th Street SE.
After a stressful election season, Snyder says he's happy to see events like these.
"I view this as the great part," says the governor. "Election season is over. Let's get into holiday season, so we can be with our friends and neighbors, family sharing and giving back to others. That's the Michigan spirit. This is another form of Pure Michigan in my book."
The Art Van Wonderland includes one million Christmas lights, 2,000 feet of garland, and 1,200 feet of wrapping paper.
