UPDATE AT 2:05 P.M. (WZZM) -- Police are releasing the name of a man killed in an accident on the I-196 Ford Freeway.
Michigan State Police troopers say 35-year-old Robert Sanders of Grand Rapids was driving his 2007 Saturn Vue SUV westbound on I-196 when it abruptly left the roadway, entered the median and rolled over several times. Sanders was ejected from the SUV and was killed.
Troopers say neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in the crash. Sanders was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was the only person in the SUV.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
WYOMING, Mich. (WZZM) - One man was killed in a crash on I-196 westbound west of the Market exit.
The crash happened shortly before 7 a.m. Friday.
Police say the driver of the vehicle was killed in the rollover. His was the only vehicle involved in the crash and he was the only person in the car.
The left lane of I-196 westbound was closed, causing significant traffic delays.
Michigan State Police say the crash was just inside Wyoming city limits.
