Five arrested during drug enforcement, handgun recovered

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WZZM) - Kalamazoo Public Safety officers made several drug related arrests. This came after officers conducted a street level drug investigation after receiving several tips from citizens about drug dealing.

During the investigation, officers saw a person selling heroin out of their vehicle. Officers made contact with the people in the vehicle and arrested the driver for the delivery of heroin. Three passengers were also arrested.  One of the passengers who was arrested for a parole violation was found to have several grams of heroin hidden in his rear end.

In a second investigation, officers saw a person with several warrants walking. Upon an attempt get in contact, the person ran a short distance before he was caught and taken into custody. Upon searching the person, officers found a fully loaded revolver. As a result, the person was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail on outstanding warrants, carrying a concealed weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
