Grand Rapids, Mich. (WZZM) For the first time in its 20 years, the "Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot" will wind through the streets of downtown Grand Rapids.

This morning, Grand Rapids Public Schools along with the city officials announced that the 5K run-walk will also have a "stadium finish."  The course will begin at Van Andel Arena, going down Division Avenue, crossing the Grand River, then returning to the arena.

Participants will cross the finish line inside in the middle of cheering spectators and volunteers. The Turkey Trot raises funds to support the K-12 Athletic Programs in the Grand Rapids Schools.
