ANTWERP TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - A 32-year-old Kalamazoo area man is in jail after driving into a tree while "super drunk" overnight.
Van Buren County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a car hitting a tree at about 1:00am Thursday in the 22000 block of Red Arrow Highway. The driver, who was uninjured, told deputies that he had had too much to drink and fell asleep while driving. He was arrested and will be charged under the state's "super drunk" laws of having a blood alcohol content of over .17%.
The man has two prior alcohol traffic-related violations.
His name will be released after his arraignment.
