House fire on Butterworth St. SW in Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - Grand Rapids firefighters believe children playing with a lighter started a house fire in the 1000 block of Butterworth St. SW.
Grand Rapids Fire Dispatch says the fire started around noon Friday.
Firefighters on the scene say children playing with a lighter started a couch on fire on the first floor of the house. The mother and her boyfriend tried to put the fire out, and tried to get the couch out of the house, but the fire spread too fast.
The house is believed to be a total loss, but everyone was able to make it out of the house okay.
