Deputies say Johnson was driving a pickup on County Road 388 near South Haven Tuesday night when he crossed the center line and hit a Pontiac Grand Prix.

Inside the Grand Prix, 24-year-old Brittney King of Bangor, four-year-old Cassadi Berryhill and two-year-old Kandice Berryhill were all killed in the crash.  The children's father, Justin Berryhill, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators say Johnson, who previously lived in Alabama, admitted to drinking before driving Tuesday.  Johnson also has a history of driving-related convictions.
