COLOMA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM)-Michigan State Police are investigating a car-train crash that sent two people to the hospital.
It happened just after 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the Pere Marquette line in Coloma Township, near Benton Harbor. An Amtrak spokesman says train no. 371 was traveling from Grand Rapids to Chicago when it collided with a car on the tracks. One of the train's passengers tells WZZM 13 that the man and four-year-old child who were in the car were taken to a hospital. None of the 138 passengers on board the train were injured.
The train resumed service around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
